Attorney General's Office and Health and Education departments of Cundinamarca provides guidelines on vaccination against measles and rubella in the department

The Attorney General's Office, through the Regional Cundinamarca, issued jointly with the Secretariats of Health and Education Abroad Circular 005, 2012, through which provides guidelines concerning the guarantee of the right to vaccination Measles and rubella in the population from 11 to 20 years in the department.

In the circular, addressed to the mayors, municipal health secretaries, municipal Development and Education, heads of educational core, the directors of public and private educational institutions, the coordinators of the plans for collective interventions (PIC) , managers of subsidized and tax EPS and IPS managers of public and private, it is recalled that due to the presence of six imported cases of measles in the city of Barranquilla and as part of strategies to strengthen the plan of elimination of measles and rubella in the country, was established the day of vaccination against these diseases in children, adolescents and young people 11-20 years old, scheduled for the period between 13 February and 19 April 2012.

The Attorney General's Office and the Health and Education departments of Cundinamarca, recalled that the Code of Children and Adolescents (Act 1098 of 2006) determines the right to health, and ensuring that this right was defined as a national guideline department carrying out the vaccination campaign in 483,099 children and young people from 11 to 20 years old living in England, which are considered susceptible or at risk of measles or rubella.

Through Circular 005 is recalled that the health departments, municipal development and education, the public and private IPS, EPS subsidized, tax and special arrangements must comply with the national guideline of the day of vaccination and therefore Cundinamarca department should not require special authorization to vaccinate this population, or restricting access of health educational institutions.
