Attorney General's Office confirmed on appeal the sanction of suspension for 3 months to Former Mayor of Cucuta (Norte de Santander)

In ruling on appeal, the Attorney General's Office confirmed the sanction of suspension from office of Mayor of San Jose de Cucuta, Norte de Santander, at the time of the events, Ramiro Suarez Corzo for a period of 3 months, to carry out tender irregularly through the sale which was a property owned by the municipality.

At disciplinable, who served as local president between 2004 and 2007, is accused of having carried out the bidding 003 of 2007, which was given to a private sale a plot of land of 584 square meters, together with improvements built on it, exceeding its authority was granted under municipal agreement of December 2006, which authorized him to dispose of the municipality up to 20 million dollars provided that these were not found for the provision of any public service or services were required to meet the responsibility of the local authority.

However, this property was sold by public tender to Mrs. Ana Lucia Reyes Quintero and others for the sum of 577 million pesos, and it was a good in which services were provided to run public education in this set the C-based National College of Commerce.

At exmandatario were attributed as legal rules infringed the conduct mentioned in Articles 44, 64 and 67 of the Constitution, Law 80 of 93 and Article 26 of Law 724 of 2002, which is the Single Disciplinary Code. Failure is described as very serious by way of negligence.
