Attorney General's Office confirmed suspension former mayor of San Marcos (Sucre)

In ruling on appeal, the Attorney General's Office confirmed the decision taken at a public hearing held on September 9, 2011, which was imposed on Mr. Cecilio Acosta Manuel Bravo, in his capacity as Mayor of San Marcos (Sucre ), sanction of suspension in the exercise of the office for a term of four months.

The local exmandatario was investigated for failing, without just cause, the constitutional provisions and the basic law regulating the implementation of the National Public Accounting as well as the policies, principles and terms that are issued in this matter by the General Accounting nation.

In resolving the appeal, the Second Deputy Attorney General for Administrative Supervision found that there is evidence to show that the investigated public servant committed the disciplinary offense complained of, from finding found by the Comptroller Department of Sucre, according to which the municipality was not giving effect to the policies, principles and rules of public accounting system.

It also found that were not developed, approved and duly filled out the financial statements at December 31, 2009 and that the accounting information was not provided in a timely, accurate and reliable, in due time by the General Accounting the Nation.

With this behavior, the then president prevented the local authorities undertake the respective evaluation and financial control.
