Attorney General's Office exercises preventive monitoring in the election of managers of hospitals in Bogotá

On the instructions of the Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado, prosecutors forward a preventive action in relation to the monitoring process for competitions of merit for the election of managers of the State Social Enterprises (ESE). The call to governors, mayors and members of the boards meet current regulations required in this area has been designated by the Chief Public Prosecutor, first on March 13 and later on 7 May this year, with communications urging the authorities to continue to judiciously assorted processes for the election of such charges.

In Bogota, the First District Attorney made a special visit to the Universidad Javeriana and the District Department of Health to purpose of the contract by these entities for the purpose of providing technical and policy support in the selection lists for the election of managers of the ESE that require it.

Alert to the Office that the contract did not include in his time to the Hospital of Usme and therefore should be brought forward a new process that could lead to administrative and financial wear.

The Attorney General recommended to the District Health Department and the Mayor of Bogotá take steps to prevent this situation generate overruns and urged to comply with the regulations governing this type of process, recalling that the effective application of the planning constitutional guidelines promotes transparency in economic and contractual management of the state.
  
Finally, the Office noted the concern generated by the non-appointment of managers and Usaquén Bosa, recommending to the Secretary of Health and the Mayor to take into account the regulations applicable in the case of the alleged disabilities existing in these two cases.
