Attorney General's Office invites you to encourage women and youth participation in elections of officers of Community Action Agencies

The Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado invited to encourage the participation of women and youth in the election of officers of community action agencies, which will take place this year as an opportunity to promote generational renewal senior management, the transformation of these bodies and consolidation in the spaces of citizen participation.

The Chief Public Prosecutor stressed the importance of community action agencies as a mechanism of democratic civil society representation, invites citizens to join the boards of Community Action and Community Housing, and remember that the process of election of officers represents a significant challenge that must be undertaken in a participatory, accountable and autonomous.

Attorney Ordóñez Maldonado urges members to the boards of Community Action to meet the proposals of those seeking election and to make this event a manifestation of democracy, in which all men and women over 14 enjoy the guarantees sufficient to elect or be elected in an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and coexistence.

It urges citizens to be vigilant and suppliers of these exercises of democratic participation. The Attorney General's Office will perform the actions that are relevant to ensuring the transparency of these processes.


Key dates for community action agencies

• April 29: They are elected officers of the boards of Community Action and Community Housing.
• July 29: community associations are elected boards.
• Sept. 30: It elects the officers that make up the Federation Community.
• Nov. 25: We elect the officers of the Confederation Community.
