Attorney General's Office led National Day of the Family and presents results of survey of family ties

With the presence of Mayor of Bogota, Gustavo Petro Urrego, the director general of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute, Diego Molano Aponte, members of academia and civil society, the Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado as part of the celebration of National Family Day, will sign an alliance with public and private for the family and present the survey of Family Links.

The Alliance, which was formally registered tomorrow, Tuesday May 15, from 8:30 am, meets the constitutional duty of the Attorney functional and work for the guarantee and protection of the family institution and comply with the Act on December 3 1361del 2009 which states that "The National Government and its public institutions, civil society and local authorities will establish action plans and programs to promote a culture of protection, promotion and enhancement of the family institution. In celebration of Family Day will generate actions which highlight the importance of family and the promotion of values ​​such as respect, love, mutual support, tolerance, honesty as a pillar for the family and social relationships. "

After the first year of work on the subject is linked to this project, among others, 32 companies and organizations to establish joint work actions, plans and programs to promote a culture of protection, promotion and enhancement of the family institution.

National Survey of Family Presentation

Another planned actions was to conduct a survey that asked about the quality of family relationships in young people, adults and older people in the cities of Barranquilla, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cucuta, Medellin , Pasto, Pereira and Villavicencio.

The survey will be presented under the said event was applied to 2000 among young people, adults and seniors, yielded interesting results in terms of family ties: the respondents believe that family is the most influential institution in their personal welfare and in society, above the state and other private institutions. However, about 80% of respondents think that the family is disintegrating due to the lack of values.

Finally, one of the most striking is that about 95% of respondents are unaware of the rights of the family recognized by Law 1361 of 2009, which was created precisely for the comprehensive protection of the family.
