Attorney General's Office met with mayors of 14 municipalities in the catchment area of Lake Fúquene affected by winter

Under the preventive monitoring of the lagoon ecosystem Fúquene, Cucunubá and Palace, the Attorney General's Office, through the Division for Environmental and Agricultural Affairs, chaired a meeting with the mayors and representatives of 14 municipalities in the area of influence this water body.

During the meeting, socialized strategies have been implemented to address the current winter emergency affecting the municipalities of Caldas, Carmen de Carupa, Cucunubá, Fúquene Lenguazaque, San Miguel de Sema, Sutatausa, Tausa, Ráquira, Susa, Simijaca, Suesca , and Villapinzón Ubaté (departments of Boyaca and Cundinamarca).

Progress was also made in the third phase of the preventive strategy advanced by the Delegate to identify, through information provided directly by local leaders, the diagnoses on the situation of the lagoon and its relationship to winter emergency and governance schemes prepared by these authorities to address the social and environmental problems Fúquene lagoon ecosystem.

The information related facility of the mayors will be evaluated by members of the Preventive Monitoring Committee formed within the Special Prosecutor, who also analyzed the relationship of the strategies proposed by municipalities against the local development plans. Observations of the Control Agency will be presented in mid-May.
