Attorney General's Office quoted mayors of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga to assess problematic for solid waste disposal

The Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado, through the Special Prosecutor for Environmental and Agricultural Affairs, summoned the mayors of the municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga to a meeting in his office, to evaluate the decisions and actions local leaders address the environmental problems caused by weaknesses in the field of solid waste disposal in the region.

The chief prosecutors asked the mayors of Bucaramanga, Francisco Luis Bohorquez, Giron, Hector Quintero Joshua Jaimes, Floridablanca, Nestor Hernando Diaz Barrera and Piedecuesta, Angel de Jesus Becerra, present the scope of the contingency plans provided in order to avoid a possible emergence of health and environmental connection with the improper disposal of solid waste.

The meeting, cited personal and not transferable, will be held on Friday 10 February at the premises of the Attorney General's Office in the city of Bogota.
