Attorney General's Office raised objections to two former mayors of Valledupar (Cesar)

The Attorney General's Office statement of charges made against Mr. Ruben Alfredo Carvajal Riveira and Ciro Pupo Arturo Castro, on the condition of municipal mayors of Valledupar (Cesar), for failing to allegedly exercise of recourse against Township officials wrongful causing damage in the process of administrative restructuring which was condemned by the entity.

Mr. Pupo Castro is charged that during the period 2007 failed to make the necessary steps to initiate action against officials repeat that, with its willful misconduct or gross negligence, led to a series of demands with which economically hurt the finances of municipality.

Such claims originated in the administrative restructuring process, which generated payments to claimants and former officials of the municipality.

For his part, Mr. Carvajal Riveira, serving as mayor of that town during the period 2008, likewise failed to repeat the action against officials who affected the finances of Valledupar, for payment of salaries and benefits for a period not worked and compensation for unfair dismissal with the removal of administrative career positions, the same plaintiffs and former officials of the municipality.

In both cases mentioned in the statement of objections that such municipal leaders began repeating the respective actions, despite being current deadlines for diligenciarlas according to Law 678 of 2001.

This omission makes the two officials might incur a very serious offense of "failure to implement in a timely manner by the legal representative of the municipality, in the event to proceed, the action for indemnity against officials whose conduct has generated settlement or condemnation of State. "
