Attorney General's Office reiterates call for an EPS settle their debts with subsidized regime

The Attorney General's Office calls for territorial authorities to be in strict compliance with the provisions of the Decree 1080 issued on 23 May, which establishes the procedure to be followed by departments, districts and municipalities to pay of its obligations to the EPS subsidized regime for insurance contracts signed until March 31, 2011.

The deadline for territorial authorities to determine the value of resources due expired on Friday, June 22 and the respective payments must be made no later than 24 July next.

In the opinion of the Attorney General, is urgent to end the historic debt that local authorities have with the health promoting entities subsidized regime, amounting to $ 1.9 billion pesos.
Payments should be made through master accounts with local authorities, by which own and manage resources of the Nation.

The Attorney General's Office shall exercise strict vigilance to ensure that departments, districts and municipalities enacting the rule and act within the time limits, to protect not only the sustainability of the health system, but essentially to ensure the timely delivery of user services subsidized regime.
