The Attorney General's Office, through the Division for Environmental and Agricultural Affairs, presented to the Colombian Institute for Rural Development (coder) a direct revocation request against the administrative acts of the premises illegally awarded "Sandrana" and "Samaria", in the municipalities of San Pedro and Buga (Valle del Cauca).

The award comprises a land area of 1,694.17 hectares and were received by the coder from the DNE and awarded irregularly, since it did not take into account technical, economic, environmental and social guarantee beneficiaries competitiveness and sustainability of the project productive land in accordance with regulations.

The Constitutional Court through Decision T-1115, 2008, had noticed irregularities, without the coder has solved the problem. The properties are in the hands of a third party custodian, a situation which substantially affects the process of socio-economic stability of families awarded.

The properties "Sandrana" and "Samaria" do not have the characteristics required for the development of production projects for the beneficiary families, and that 992 hectares are crops of sugar cane and 270 belong to wetlands that require high maintenance costs, it that nonviable material division for individual projects.

Today families do not reside in the property awarded to them and are getting a lease for the operation performed by the sugar mill, a situation that according to the terms and conditions of the contract and existing ingenuity, can be extended up this year.

For the prosecution it is essential that the various programs developed by the coder are intended for the true subjects of land reform, ie the peasants, displaced persons, demobilized, rural women and other vulnerable groups.
