Attorney General's Office sanctioned the former commander of the Police Department of Caquetá

In lower court ruling, the Attorney General's Office sanctioned with suspension from office for three months and inability to exercise special public service by the same term to Colonel (r) Israel Robayo Rojas, in his capacity as commander of the Police Department Caquetá, omissions that led to the kidnapping and subsequent death of former Governor of Caquetá Luis Francisco Cuéllar Carvajal.

The Public Ministry determined that the officer had knowledge of the intelligence report warned of a possible terrorist attack by the FARC, related to the Security Council which would assist the then President Alvaro Uribe Velez. In front of his office stated the disciplinary responsibility, then it is logical that with the background, there continued to investigate the security scheme given the governor Cuéllar Carvajal available since 2008.

With his act of omission, Colonel Robayo unreasonably affected in its duty to provide the necessary assistance to state servants, when they need assistance or support in carrying out their duties in accordance with the legal powers conferred upon the National Police.

The previous behavior was described by the judge of first instance as a serious disciplinary offense, committed a grave fault title, taking into account that previous sanctions had no discipline was imposed the suspension for three months without pay. For being out of service will become a fine of $ 8,091,891, and especially the inability to hold public office by the said period of three months.

Against this decision of first instance the remedy of appeal to the Disciplinary Division of the Attorney General's Office.
