Attorney General's Office to monitor elections atypical Sitionuevo City Council (Magdalena)

The Attorney General's Office through the Provincial Barranquilla, has initiated actions to control, supervision and monitoring of the election process for City Council in atypical Sitionuevo (Magdalena), which will take place on Sunday February 26.

In order to provide the necessary support to citizenship and to exercise supervision and control in the polling stations, was appointed a team of four officials from the Provincial Office of Barranquilla, a prosecutor and a criminal justice administrative court attorney who will support the Municipal Attorney in exercise of the functions of electoral control. For the prosecution is a priority to prevent irregularities and ensure both candidates and citizens to develop a fully transparent electoral process.

The municipal ombudsman also received Sitionuevo "Election 2011 Primer", published by the National Control Commission and Electoral Affairs, with instructions for the exercise of these control functions. The public prosecutors involved in the monitoring committees at the municipal election and at each stage of the process, which began with the registration cards and end with sending the respective reports after the election.
