Attorney General's Office urges the Government to be handled emergency exits facing the 92 municipalities of Boyacá affected by the current rainy season

The critical situation caused by rain in 92 municipalities of Boyacá, was raised yesterday by Governor Juan Carlos Granados Becerra and several local officials with the Attorney General's Office. The territorial authorities of the department raised the need for more specific legal guidance to enable them to act on timely support for the affected population and disaster prevention.

At the request of the Prosecutor for the Decentralization and Local Authorities, with support from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, discusses legal alternatives to facilitate decision making and appropriate actions by both the governor as mayors in areas such as the relocation of families living in high risk areas, enabling time zones for solid waste disposal, potable water supplies, hiring of machinery to rehabilitate secondary and tertiary roads, among others.

The Attorney General urges the Government to be given the legal and technical advice relevant to territorial authorities, and that as soon as possible be managed emergency exits to the face 92 of the 123 municipalities in Boyacá affected by the current rainy season.
