Attorney General temporarily suspends a councilor of the municipality of Santiago (Putumayo)

The councilor of the municipality of Santiago (Putumayo), Mr. Fabio Lasso Erazo was summoned to the sitting on Tuesday 10 April at 2 pm in the office of the Regional Office of Putumayo, in the process to respond to verbal alleged breaches of discipline, as it may be ineligible to register and be elected as a councilor from 2012 to 2015.

Public servants may fall within the grounds of violation of the regime of disabilities covered by Article 40, paragraph 3 of Act 617 of 2000, having held on behalf of themselves and others on behalf of a corporation called ISMELEC, several construction contracts with the municipality of Santiago, within one year immediately preceding his election.

The temporary suspension is ordered as a precautionary measure to prevent the conduct under investigation remain on or interfered with the investigation. Fulfilling the procedural step will be referred for consultation with the Attorney's Office for Administrative Supervision in order to ensure due process and the right disciplined defense.

At the hearing in question will be heard in the investigated free version and shall respond orally or in writing by the behavior indicated.
