Attorney and 31 public and private entities have signed Partnership for the celebration of National Family Day

 

The Attorney General's Office today signed the Alliance for the celebration of National Family Day, which brought together 31 states in an effort to ensure and protect the family institution as a pillar of our society.

On behalf of the public attended the event, led by the Attorney General, the Deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communication, Carolina Hoyos Turbay, the Mayor of Bogota, Gustavo Petro Urrego, the director general of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute Diego Molano Aponte, the Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado, the head of the Office of Social Development Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Susan Vogel Helfer, the Attorney's Office for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, Adolescence and the Family, Ilva Hoyos Myriam Castaneda, the media, members of academia and civil society.

The mission statement of the alliance signed by the public and private organizations attended the event said that "The undersigned organizations and individuals commit to promote strengthening the family as the basic institution (Art. 5 CP) and core of the Company ( Section 42 CP) through our participation in actions which highlight the importance of family and the promotion of values ​​such as respect, love, mutual support, tolerance, honesty as fundamental pillars of the family and social relationships, and adopt a perspective on our activities responsive to the Colombian families, which is aimed at strengthening family harmony and social cohesion. "

In the same scenario, socialized the executive report of the survey that was applied to 2,000 citizens between youth, adults, parents and seniors, from 10 cities, and within which the main findings were found in family matters ; family ties, state contributions to strengthening them; disintegration of family ties and behavior of the media address this issue.

In this regard it is worth noting that respondents the best options to strengthen the family unit is the promotion of ethical principles and values ​​in the family, followed by the delivery of economic and educational incentives.

We also found that for youth, adults and older adults, the media have great influence on the family and at greater than 70% believe that this influence is positive. Also, the media have the greatest impact on families are, in order: TV, internet, magazines, radio and the press.

In the case of young people the results are even more revealing for a 29% deemed never to have adult supervision when watching television, followed by 34% with this support rarely and only 37% always or almost always .
