Attorney ordered a disciplinary investigation into Congressman Lucero Cortes

The Attorney General's Office opened a disciplinary investigation against Ms. Méndez Lucero Cortes, as a congressman for the material time, for possible influence peddling in the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Judicial Council.

The possible irregular activities are related to a possible influence peddling on the one hand, against the judgment of guardianship that favored his spouse in an investigation of the alleged crime of fraud and other possible pressures that would have been a judge of the Council of the Judiciary by his superiors to utter decision in a disciplinary proceeding against an attorney who was denounced by the husband of Congresswoman investigated.

Through this disciplinary investigation seeks to "verify the occurrence of the conduct, whether it is constitutive of a disciplinary offense; clarify the reasons determining the circumstances of time, manner and place in which it was committed, the damage caused to public administration the misconduct and the disciplinary responsibility of investigation ".

In developing this disciplinary proceeding the Attorney General ordered that testimonial and documentary evidence in order to achieve the improvement of research evidence coming forward.
