Attorney, alarmed by the cases presented by stray bullets, mourns the death of Torres Lesy Calao and sympathizes with the parents of a minor

The Attorney General's Office expresses its sympathy to the parents and relatives of the girl Lesy Calao Torres, who died at his six years of age, 1 January in the early morning hours in the city of Monteria, being another manifestation of violence and social irresponsibility, as he was killed after being the victim of a stray bullet while he was at home sleeping with his mother, according to information received by the media.
  
For the Office are alarming cases of stray bullets during 2011 registered since January 1 to December 28 were recorded, as reported by the National Police, 15 murders of which five were children and also 100 cases of injured, 15 of them under 18.

Given this situation urgently develop strategies and measures that tend to parallel a comprehensive social welfare, since not only seeks to prohibit the carrying of firearms to individuals because it would increase the clandestine and illegal sale of the same, but should educate the population by creating a culture of respect for life, tolerance against the other, designing campaigns involving both adults and infants.

"You have to disarm not only to adults but to children of violent toys," said Assistant Attorney General for the Defence of the Rights of the Child, Ilva Hoyos Myriam Castaneda, who also concluded that the State must create security and confidence to the citizens, therefore, must create new ways to ensure peaceful coexistence and the validity of a just order, as one of the essential purposes of the Rule of law.
