Criminal Justice in Bogotá Circuit reaffirms its initial decision to refrain from imposing security measure to Luis Carlos Restrepo, accepting arguments of the Attorney

After the Attorney General's Office impugned before the Supreme Court handed down the judgment of guardianship by the Superior Tribunal of Bogota, in which it was left without effect the decision of Judge guarantees 45 of revoking the arrest warrant the excomisionado Peace, Luis Carlos Restrepo Ramírez, that judge reaffirmed his decision to the effect of revoking the detention order had been imposed on the former official.

The judge concluded that there is no reasonable inference of the existence of criminal conduct attributed to Mr. Restrepo and thus rendering him the arrest warrant that had been given against him.

For its part, the Attorney General, who promptly filed an appeal against the decision affecting the imprisonment of the accused on the grounds that did not meet the legal requirements for such a decision, allowed the judge of second instance host these arguments to confirm its initial decision to refrain from imposing the measure.

As for Raul Medina Agudelo, alias "Olivo Saldaña ', also charged in the same process, the judge found the means of knowledge sufficient to maintain the security measure imposed. In this way were treated the claims of the attorney and the defense of high excomisionado for Peace.

As you may recall, the former official accused the prosecution charges of embezzlement by appropriation, conspiracy, fraud trial, manufacture, trafficking and possession of uniforms unique to the military, in which behaviors have been incurred while serving as High Commissioner for Peace in 2007.
