In lower court ruling, the Attorney General's Office suspended Juan Pablo Diaz Granados, former mayor of Santa Marta (Magdalena)

Through verbal process in court ruling, the Attorney General's Office suspended for a period of 45 days to Juan Pablo Diaz Granados, in his capacity as mayor of Santa Marta (Magdalena) for 2008-2011 by irregularities in the resource management of royalties.

The Division for Public Economics and Finance found a lack of diligence on the part of Mr. Diaz Granados in the execution of the public for not deploying actions to achieve the minimum coverage mandated by law, allocate more resources to a project that resources accordingly and execute an item with a different object.

For it is clear that Attorney exmandatario disciplinary department at fault in failing to comply with grave fault minimum coverage affecting the areas of health, education, sanitation and child mortality and allocate resources to projects in excess of that permitted.

The penalty was converted into minimum wages in accordance with the amount of commission earned at the time of the offense, this is 45 days salary equivalent to the sum of $ 8,890,782, due to not exercise the disciplined public service.

The disciplined filed the appeal to be decided by the Attorney Disciplinary Board.

The Public Ministry collates copies to investigate the alleged responsibility of the members of the Monitoring Committee debt restructuring agreement for the District of Santa Marta, the possible overstepping their duties.
