In ruling on appeal, the Agency confirmed the dismissal of the former mayor of Lorica (Córdoba)

The Attorney General's Office upheld a ruling on appeal the dismissal and disability for 12 years to the former mayor of Lorica (Córdoba), Ulises Sanchez Adalberto Genes, by irregularities in the liquidation and payment of a public works contract signed and auditing in 2008.

In resolving the appeal, prosecutors said the exmandatario held a public works contract for the construction, adaptation and development designs multiple Lorica a home for more than 1,500 million pesos and a contract for auditing of the latter by 12 million 900 thousand pesos, without advance an objective selection process for choosing both the contractor and the auditor.

For the prosecution it is clear that the disciplined forward a different procedure provided by law in the celebration of two inter-administrative agreements without meeting the requirements for validity, which circumvented the rules of objective selection of the contractor.

The Attorney General concludes that the discipline "(...) for the functions normally fulfilled as it was advancing the contracting activity responsible projects, knew the amounts of major and minor to engage in the municipality and the standards contained in the contracting State statute and despite this mutated the recruitment process. "
