In working group convened by the Attorney General's Office, national and regional authorities materialized investments to mitigate problems created by the winter Magangué (Bolivar)

With investment announcements and commitments to accelerate the implementation of works to mitigate problems generated because of the winter, was held Wednesday in Magangué (Bolivar) interagency working table convened by the Attorney General's Office through its Executive for Decentralization and Territorial and Provincial Magangué.

The call of the Public Ministry was attended by Ivan Mustafa, Deputy Minister of Water, Cesar Gonzalez, superintendent of Public Service and representatives of Colombia Humanitarian, Social Protection Ministry, the National Unit for Risk Management and the National Department of Planning.

The Government confirmed the investment of more than 100 billion pesos in the General System of Units, through Colombia Humanitarian and the Adaptation Fund, in projects of drinking water, housing, health and sanitation that will mitigate the problems generated in Magangué community before the rainy season has affected the country.

Another issue discussed was the difficulty of the community to cancel the service generated electric power to allow water drainage of a large number of neighborhoods Magangué. The government will seek an agreement with Electricaribe to renegotiate debts and boost the turnover is assumed by the municipal administration.

Additionally we analyzed the implementation of a model that, according to Decree 2193 of 2004, allows monitoring and evaluation to make the technical, financial and administrative State Social Enterprise in the area. For this, the Ministry of Social Protection submitted a separate report on the reality of the municipality in this area.

For the village of San Sebastian de Buenavista and according to the draft submitted by the Mayor of Magangué, will invest 570 million pesos. The priority is to build a dike to prevent the passage of the river Magdalena.

In the desk and meeting the guidelines given by the Attorney General's Office, Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado, prosecutors insisted that continue to accompany and monitor the implementation of projects and the proper use of resources.

In December 2011, development of a humanitarian journey driven by what officials of the PGN, the attorney general visited affected areas of the region and knew first hand the difficulties suffered by magangueleños. At that time he ordered a special monitoring attention to the problem and promised the residents to promote the necessary institutional support and implementation of public policies in defense of their rights.
