Starts second phase of capacity building program in the Attorney General's Office

• The model optimizes preventive management of the Bank, IGA results will be evaluated and analyzed culture of legality in the state.

In order to help improve governance by strengthening the role of prevention exercises the Attorney General's Office was formally began three contracts for consulting services related to data analysis, publication and socialization of Contents Open Government (IGA), the survey and baseline analysis of the culture of legality and integrity in pilot entities, and diagnosis, design and socialization of preventive management model of the Attorney General.

These projects will be advanced under the credit agreement signed in May 2249-OC/CO 2011 between the Republic of Colombia and the Inter-American Development Bank, whose executing agency is the Attorney General's Office. The specific objectives include strengthening the operation of the design and implementation of policies to prevent this monitoring body, and contribute to improving compliance levels in public administration.

Regarding the assessment, design and socialization of preventive management model of the Attorney, consultancy comprehensively assess progress of coordination between different levels of the institution is in charge of the preventive function, efficiency in managing resources and the effectiveness of prevention policies drawn. The new model of preventive management, strengthen the realization of the rules on this feature has been issued.

The consultancy for the analysis of information, publication and socialization of Open Government Index (IGA) will review this tool monitor compliance with anti-corruption standards in local authorities, review the results of its application in the period 2010 to 2011, and propose recommendations to improve implementation of preventive operators.

For its part, the consultancy for the survey and baseline analysis on the culture of legality and integrity in pilot entities will apply measurement tools (surveys), will develop a strategy for promoting the culture of legality among public officials and will be implemented through the media, new technologies, pedagogical scenarios and focus groups. The purpose is to increase the social stigma and rejection to individual acts of corruption within public administration.

Through the capacity building program, the Attorney General's Office seeks to ensure the benefits of the surveillance conducted in the exercise of public management and prevention of acts contrary to the law by public servants.
