With 30-day suspension, Attorney sanctioned in court ruling Corpoamazonia director

To use resources from royalties to cover operating expenses, the Attorney General's Office, through verbal process, suspended in a lower court ruling Cordoba José Ignacio Munoz, president of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Southern Amazonia (Corpoamazonia) , for a period of one month.

The irregularities are related to the mishandling of revenue earmarking, in signing a contract with International Trading MAC in 2008 in order to provide hygiene items and cafe to the Corporation.

The prosecution emphasized that operating expenses can be included and funded within the investment projects, but must be associated with achieving the target for such projects, and noted that if an urgent need to make such expenditures for the performance of the work, these had to be financed with resources allocated for operating expenses.

The lack foisted the disciplined was described by the Control Authority as serious misconduct by way of negligence.

Mr. Muñoz Cordoba appealed against the decision of first instance be resolved by the Attorney Disciplinary Board.
