With Protection Action, the Office managed to protect fundamental rights of 11 students in Vichada

In order to protect the fundamental rights to due process, education and the free development of personality, the Attorney General's Office, through the Regional Vichada, instituted an action for custody in which he requested reimbursement of ten College students Eustatius Jose Rivera of Puerto Carreño (Vichada) and a College student Eduardo Carranza in the same city, who had been expelled from their schools.

The ruling handed down by the Circuit Court Promiscuous Puerto Carreno upheld the fundamental rights invoked by the prosecution and ordered the immediate reinstatement of students to their classes.

Background

On March 2 without the prior procedure laid down in Student Handbook, the College policies Eustatius Jose Rivera retired definitively ten ninth graders because they allegedly stolen some food from a stand which operates within the campus .

Meanwhile, Eduardo Carranza directives College expelled a student in grade 11 classes have been submitted by a body modification (known as "pearcing"), a situation that threatens their free development of personality.

Parents of affected students went to the Attorney General, presented the case and expressed concern about the future of their children. The Regional Office Vichada at first instance and went directly to the authorities of those campuses, and second to the departmental authorities (Department of Core and Departmental Secretary of Education and Culture).

Because in these instances did not solve the problem and still violated the rights of adolescents involved, the attorney brought an informal agent, the action before the Court of Guardianship Circuit Promiscuous Puerto Carreno, office that gave the rightly ruled prosecutors and defense of the rights of students.
